Declan Walsh

Business Development & Strategy Director and DIO DFDS

Declan’s original training was as a Chemical Engineer and he has  a Ph.D. in Aerosol Physics. He spent the early 2000’s bleeding-edge Digital Product development before joining the Ferry industry (Norfolkline) in 2007.

At Norfolkline Declan was responsible for Digital Distribution of Passenger, Freight Shipping & Logistics product.

Since the acquisition of Norfolkline by DFDS in 2010 he has been working with the Digitisation of the DFDS Passenger portfolio.

He is currently responsible for Business Development & Strategy;  identifying, developing and implementing growth opportunities for the DFDS Passenger business underpinned by a constant focus on Customer Experience.

Declan lives with his wife & family in Scheveningen (The Netherlands), is a regular commuter to Copenhagen, and enjoys long distance triathlon and adventurous holidays with bicycles.
