Why we Sponsor Digital Travel Connect

At Digital Travel Connect, we spoke to Jack Ellis, Senior Client Partner at Yahoo, to see why they chose to sponsor for the first time.

Why did you choose to sponsor?

Jack : There was a lot of noise regarding events and opportunities to meet clients, and Digital Travel Connect cuts out all that noise and gets straight to the decision-makers and influential people. You can have relaxed conversations, no hard sales pitches, and the delegates are all primed to hear what we have to offer, just a consultative approach.

How have you found the quality of the delegates & networking opportunities?

Jack : The delegates have been absolutely spot on for us, and there are further opportunities to come as a result of meeting them.

We’ve had good conversations through the networking sessions. One that comes to mind is a conversation I had at the coffee stand earlier. We discussed how the company started, and off the back of that, we managed to get another meeting scheduled.

How many meetings have you had overall?

Jack : We’ve had nine one-on-one meetings and a few others during the networking breaks as well. All nine will lead to a good follow-up, with two of them being very exciting as they’re appropriate for our business, and ready to lock in. Meeting these delegates is incredibly good value, and to be able to meet this many senior delegates over two days, all primed and hear what you’ve got to say, it’s invaluable.

We also used the attendee profiling information before the event to help plan our meetings. We looked at not only their investment priorities but also their job titles and personal influence on the budget.

How have you found the sessions?

Jack : I particularly found the session on how AI is going to drive and organise travel plans very interesting. There were also some exciting prospects speaking, along with huge businesses, so it’s great to learn the needs of these prospects.

Why would you say it’s important to sponsor Digital Travel Connect?

Jack Everyone respects Digital Travel Connect and takes this event seriously. I’ve been to many events where they just send junior staff or take advantage of what’s on offer, but that’s not the case here. Everyone here is serious about what they do and clearly respects the format. There is no event like it.
